Maple Leafs Should Re-Sign Mark Giordano
April 7, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Toronto Maple Leafs may have the odds stacked against them heading into the postseason, but that doesn’t mean they’re not confident in their ability to make a deep run. They made some deadline acquisitions, bringing in Connor Dewar, Ilya Lyubushkin, and Joel Edmundson to bolster their lineup. They have a strong offensive team with enough depth to surprise some teams. With that being said, they will soon have to shift their focus onto the offseason and begin building a competitive team for the 2024-25 season.
Sabres Extend NHL Record Playoff Drought to 13 Seasons
April 7, 2024 by Matthew Zator
After falling 3-1 to the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, the Buffalo Sabres are going to miss the playoffs for the 13th straight season. They now hold the record for the most seasons without a playoff appearance – a record no one wants to have. Despite having a young, up-and-coming team capable of scoring at will, they are still looking for that first playoff game since 2010-11 when Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville were leading the charge. To put things in perspective, Tyler Myers was 20 years old that season and he is now 34.

The 18-year-old St-François-de-Madawaska, NB native tied his brother Josh for the team lead in assists (27) while leading in goals and points in the 2023-24 season.
Blue Jackets’ Gaudreau Underrated in Second Half of 2023-24
April 7, 2024 by Nicholas Arnold
The 2023-24 season has been a slog for the Columbus Blue Jackets. In a campaign that had expanded expectations, Ohio’s team has been tormented by challenge after challenge. One of those challenges early on was their star players not playing like star players. We at The Hockey Writers had been critical in articles and on our Union Junction podcast about the play of Johnny Gaudreau, in particular, who was slow as molasses to start the season. Things have changed, and his play since the middle of January shows that he is still worthy of being the highest-paid Blue Jacket.

Red Wings Could See Massive Influx of Youth in 2024-25 Season
April 7, 2024 by Logan Horn
The Detroit Red Wings have been rebuilding for quite some time now, and through these lean years they have succeeded in developing one of the league’s strongest pools of young talent. Some of these players, like Axel Sandin Pellikka or Trey Augustine will need a while still before challenging for a roster spot in Hockey Town, while others could figure into Detroit’s lineup as soon as this coming Fall.
Oilers News & Rumors: McDavid, Draisaitl, Kane, Perry, Pickard
April 7, 2024 by Jim Parsons
In an Edmonton Oilers news and rumors update, Connor McDavid is one assist away from 100 on the season. Leon Draisaitl scored his 40th goal of the campaign, and Cavin Pickard has proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he’s a capable backup goaltender for the postseason. But, not everything is golden in Edmonton. Corey Perry snapped on Evander Kane during Saturday’s game against the Calgary Flames and the assumption is some friction isn’t going away when it comes to Kane’s on-ice mistakes.

Leads will only sign players that Matthews likes so he can score goals. If Marner is smart I would leave the leads as they will not win the Cup with the team they have now. Too many individual players and want the lime light. I hope someone knots the smirk off of Matthews face one day and hope this year. Shave your face you look stupid
