Flames Should Consider Trading for Lightning Forward Jeannot
May 29, 2024 by Rupert McDonald
While things could change between now and the start of the 2024-25 season, all signs are pointing towards the Calgary Flames having an abundance of cap space moving forward. The main reason is that several of their highest-paid players such as Nikita Zadorov, Elias Lindholm, Chris Tanev, and Noah Hanifin were all traded this past season.

Panthers’ Games 3 & 4 Process Should Lead to Positive Outcome
May 29, 2024 by Alex Chauvancy
The Florida Panthers have been living on the edge the last couple of games, thanks to Igor Shesterkin’s fantastic goaltending. But what matters most is the series is tied at two apiece as it shifts back to New York for Game 5 at Madison Square Garden.
Sheldon Keefe Sparks New Maple Leafs-Devils Rivalry
May 29, 2024 by The Old Prof
It has been 39 years since the New Jersey Devils have existed in the National Hockey League. In that time, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Devils met in the postseason twice, in 2000 and 2001. In both cases, it was in the second round of the playoffs. The Devils won both series. In 2000, New Jersey, backed by the stellar goaltending of Martin Brodeur, went on to win the Stanley Cup. In 2001, the Devils made it to the finals but lost to the Colorado Avalanche.

Rangers Need Zibanejad to Find His Game Fast vs. Panthers
May 29, 2024 by Lucas Standel
The New York Rangers are heading into Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final tied at two games apiece with the Florida Panthers after losing Game 4 in overtime, their first overtime loss of these playoffs. One of the biggest concern for the Rangers so far in this series is the lack of offense from their top players. Artemi Panarin and Chris Kreider have yet to score a goal and they have not been the game changers they have proven they can be in the past. However, the biggest concern comes from Mika Zibanejad. He has looked awful and it was his mistake that led to the Panthers getting a power play in overtime, which eventually ended up with the puck the back of the Rangers’ net.
Tavares’ Ongoing CRA Court Case May Hurt Maple Leafs in Free Agency
May 29, 2024 by Jim Parsons
John Tavares and the Canadian Revenue Agency continue to battle in an off-season financial dispute over what the CRA calls the forward’s mislabeling of a signing bonus paid to him by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2018. The two sides disagree on how to categorize the $15.25 million (US) he was given up front when he signed. He calls it a signing bonus. The CRA does not. The appeal Tavares filed when it was deemed he owed $8 million was responded to and it doesn’t look promising for the Leafs’ captain.
