How Should the Blues Approach This Summer?
The club has flexibility to improve and try to make the playoffs in 2024-25
The St. Louis Blues missed the playoffs in 2022-23 and 2023-24. General manager Doug Armstrong has clearly struggled to figure out how to keep this roster playoff quality. A lot of the issues are due to mistakes he’s made, but he has a way to fix some of that this offseason.
It’s easy to look back at the past five years and blame Armstrong for the issues - he owns the majority of it. The talent brought in just hasn’t performed to the level needed overall. That’s why his approach is to blame overall.
This audio report will dive into what the Blues can do in trades, free agency, and the 2024 Draft. Also, is there a right approach to this summer? I think so. The club has a lot more flexibility this summer as opposed to last. Of course, there are reasons to believe that the club SHOULD rebuild, but they really can’t. Could they go big fish hunting in trades or free agency? Will they make a draft night trade? The possibilities are endless.
So…the big question remains. How should the Blues approach this summer?
