April 17, 2024 by Harrison Smajovits
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov recorded his 100th assist of the season when he assisted Brayden Point’s power-play goal. He became the fifth player in NHL history to record 100 assists in a single season. Kucherov joins Connor McDavid in reaching the mark this season. Before this year, no one had done it since 1991-92.
Oilers’ Dylan Holloway Deserves Top-6 Shot Next Season
April 17, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Edmonton Oilers have had one of the most interesting 2023-24 seasons. Having started 3-9-1 before deciding to switch out their coaching staff and make a goaltending change, they have since bounced back and secured second place in the Pacific Division heading into the postseason. One player who earned an opportunity in the lineup recently after having spent some of the season in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Bakersfield Condors is forward Dylan Holloway, who has scored two goals and added two assists in four games since being recalled from the minors. At the AHL level before being recalled, he dominated at both ends of the ice.

Montreal Canadiens’ Plans for a Perfect 2024 Offseason
April 17, 2024 by Trege Wilson
With no playoffs in sight, the Montreal Canadiens’ season is almost over. But since October, they have taken steps in the right direction on both a team level and with the individual development of top players. They already surpassed last season’s total of 68 points, plus star players Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Mike Matheson, and 2022 first-overall draft pick Juraj Slafkovsky have all had career years. Now that the season is ending, Canadiens general manager (GM) Kent Hughes needs to determine where the Habs are in the rebuild and his offseason game plan to take the next step.
Maple Leafs/Bruins 1st Round Series Is Ideal Playoff Matchup
April 17, 2024 by The Old Prof
As the NHL regular season concludes, the Toronto Maple Leafs‘ fortunes suddenly took a quick turn on Tuesday night. For so long, it seemed they would cross paths again with the Florida Panthers. After all, the two teams ran in second and third place for most of the regular season in the tough Atlantic Division. It would have been an interesting matchup, a reprise of last season’s second playoff round when the Panthers outlasted (more, in fact, out-goalied) the Maple Leafs.
