Report: Jacob Markstrom Blocked Trade to the Los Angeles Kings
March 20, 2024 by Michael Ostrower
It is no secret the Los Angeles Kings were in the hunt for goaltending at this season’s trade deadline. On deadline day, it was reported they struck a deal with the Boston Bruins to acquire goaltender Linus Ullmark before he shut it down by his no-trade clause. Recently, Nick Kypreos reported on Kyper’s Korner that a deal was in place to send Jacob Markstrom from the Calgary Flames to the Kings, but he shut it down with his no-trade clause too.
Islanders’ Roy Can Learn From Hurricanes’ Brind’Amour
March 20, 2024 by Mike Fink
The gap between the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Islanders in the March 19 game was noticeable. It’s been that way for a while but the first period alone showed the difference between a middling team in the Eastern Conference with a low ceiling and a borderline Stanley Cup contender. The Hurricanes stomped the Islanders 4-1 in a game they never trailed and all but put out of reach in the first period.

Canucks’ Offseason Priorities With Elias Pettersson Extended
March 20, 2024 by Lukas Bernasiewicz
On the morning of March 2, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they had reached an agreement with star center Elias Pettersson on an eight-year contract worth $92.8 million at a cap hit of $11.6 million per season. With this contract finally signed, sealed and delivered, Vancouver has completed its biggest off-season assignment before the off-season has even begun. But the Canucks still have a few minor cap problems that will need to be addressed during the off-season.
Keefe Calls Out Maple Leafs for Defensive Failures
March 20, 2024 by The Old Prof
How frustrated was Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe after his team lost 4-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night? His words speak for themselves. Keefe said, “we just didn’t play well enough in our half of the ice with or without the puck. We weren’t sharp. We weren’t sharp mentally. We couldn’t pass the puck. We couldn’t handle the puck. We didn’t defend. There was a lot not to like.”
Rangers’ Potential 2024 First Round Playoff Matchups Ranked
March 20, 2024 by Lucas Standel
If the regular season ended today, the New York Rangers would be the top team in the Metropolitan Division and would get the opportunity to face the team that earned the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. It is going to be a close race to the finish for the top spot in the East as the Rangers, Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers are only separated by one point. There is a chance the Rangers could win the East and even the Presidents’ Trophy as the best regular season team in the league. So, they could either face the team in the first or second wild card spot.
