July 31, 2024 by Michael Ostrower
The Montreal Canadiens have extended defenseman Kaiden Guhle to a six-year deal worth $5.55 million annually. The 22-year-old was selected 16th overall by the club in the 2020 NHL Draft. He has 10 goals and 40 points in 114 career games, including six goals and 22 points in 70 games last season.
Canadiens Take Alternative, Bridge Approach to Re-Sign Barron and Xhekaj
July 31, 2024 by Ryan Szporer
This is how it was always going to play out between Arber Xhekaj and Justin Barron and the Montreal Canadiens as the restricted-free-agent defensemen negotiated their new contracts. Canadiens GM Hughes Clears His 2024 Offseason Schedule… to Get More Done?
August 3, 2024 by Ryan Szporer
The Montreal Canadiens technically didn’t need to re-sign defenseman Kaiden Guhle. With one year left on his entry-level contract, general manager Kent Hughes could have waited. Perhaps not until his contract expired, so as to avoid the threat of an offer sheet, but it wasn’t necessarily a priority for this 2024 offseason.
Montreal Canadiens’ 2024-25 Projected Lineup
July 31, 2024 by Trege Wilson
It’s been a tranquil summer for the Montreal Canadiens. After the whirlwind of the draft, free agency has been the exact opposite, with the Canadiens only signing one player: Alex Barre-Boulet. He will likely play for the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League (AHL) and be an injury replacement later this season if needed. It could be too early, but it’s time to look at the projected lineup for the Habs in 2024-25. Consider that more moves could be made, and this lineup is based on who is currently in the organization.
