As the Minnesota Wild have officially been eliminated from the postseason, itโs time to talk about who wonโt return next season. In the offseason, contracts expire, and players who havenโt lived up to expectations are traded. The Wild have most of their team set up for the next few seasons, but some areas need improvement.ย
Wild Canโt Stop MacKinnon in Loss to Avalanche

The Minnesota Wild were trying to keep their dwindling postseason hopes alive when they took on the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night, April 9. While the prank war between Marc-Andrรฉ Fleury and Brandon Duhaime reached new heights and included an apology in which Fleury appeared to be the winner, the same canโt be said for what happened on the ice.ย

Wildโs Rossi Gets Masterton Nomination for Hard Work & Dedication

Over the years, the Minnesota Wild have been well represented when it came to the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to the player that shows a higher level of dedication and perseverance to the game of hockey. The trophy is actually named after a former Minnesota player, but not for the Wild. This story goes back to the days of the North Stars who the Wild based their Reverse Retro jerseys after these past couple of seasons. Masterton unfortunately passed away after receiving an injury in a game in 1968.ย
Wildโs Jesper Wallstedt Records Shutout in First Career Win

It will certainly be a game to remember for a young player.
At 21 and 145 days, Jesper Wallstedt became the youngest goalie in Minnesota Wild history and the 16th goalie overall to earn a shutout in his first career win. As an added bonus, his parents were in attendance when he led the Wild to a 4-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
