The anticipation for individual player evaluations has been building as the Minnesota Wild season has drawn to a close, and they’re finally here. These assessments will be given to each player who has played at least 20 games, including the three players traded away at the deadline, acknowledging their impact during their time with the team. Since the Wild didn’t make the postseason, we’ll look at a bad part of the player’s game, a good part, and then give their overall grade.Â

The NHL announced its award finalists this past week, and while most were no-brainers, some were surprises. We already gave out the NHL awards amongst the Minnesota Wild roster, and while those awards are entertaining, we thought we’d add a few more. In 17 years of play, the Minnesota Wild have trotted out 16 goalies in total. An average of nearly a goalie per season may seem like a franchise constantly searching for a reliable backstop, but to their credit, the Wild have been remarkably good at finding goaltenders written off by other teams.
