Morgan Rielly’s 5-Game Suspension Upheld by Gary Bettman
February 20, 2024 by Spencer Lazary
The Toronto Maple Leafs and defenceman Morgan Rielly appealed his recent five-game suspension, which was upheld at five games. He was suspended for cross-checking Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig in the face after he shot the puck into an empty net from about five feet away. This quickly became the talk of the NHL, with many sharing their opinions on social media. Well, the Maple Leafs and Rielly took the appeal to Commissioner Gary Bettman, which is the process with his five-game ban. A player who has been suspended for five games can appeal, however, the suspension is heard by Bettman himself rather than a private judicator.

“Perfect Fit” Willing to Waive No-Trade at Deadline to Join Oilers
February 20, 2024 by Jim Parsons
The Edmonton Oilers are riding high on the success of their top six, featuring the often-unstoppable blend of Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. With Corey Perry and Evander Kane in the mix, they boast a formidable offensive arsenal. But, there’s one thing missing — a legitimate scoring threat on the wing of their second line. To bolster their middle six, especially alongside Draisaitl and Kane, the Oilers are exploring potential trade options. Jake Guentzel may be the dream fit, but uncertainties surrounding his availability, acquisition cost, and injury situation make him a bit of a question mark.

Coyotes Ownership History: A Less-Than Stellar Tale
February 20, 2024 by Chase Beardsley
It’s no secret that the Arizona Coyotes have had a colorful past when it comes to the owners of the team. They have had a variety of owners from the best player to ever play in the NHL to the league itself. In just almost 30 years, it’s been an interesting path to get to the point where the franchise is today involving several sets of owners. From Phoenix to the endless cities rumored to be relocation options for the team, it’s been certainly a ride for the Coyotes. However, it all starts up north in Winnipeg.
