Bruins 3 Up, 3 Down: Pastrnak, Sweeney, Zacha & More
March 14, 2024 by Scott Roche
It has been a busy last couple of weeks for the Boston Bruins. The 2024 trade deadline passed last Friday (March 8) with Boston making a pair of minor moves, while some Eastern Conference teams went different paths for the final six weeks ahead of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.Â
Oilers News & Rumors: Henrique, Carrick, Brown, Ceci, Perry
March 14, 2024 by Jim Parsons
In an Edmonton Oilers news and rumors update, Connor Brown scored his first goal of the season and first as a member of the team. The reaction was incredible and the hope is that the goal unlocks a few active players on the roster. There is also talk that the Oilers have already begun to look at possible extensions for Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick. Cody Ceci’s name was out there in trade rumors, but he wasn’t moved. Why? Finally, it sounds like Corey Perry has come to terms and settled with the Chicago Blackhawks over a wrongful contract termination.
Sabres’ Home-Ice Improvements Coming During Critical Stretch
March 14, 2024 by Harper Cotie
Former NHL general manager (GM) Gord Stellick has a great line about losing, and for the last two seasons, these current Buffalo Sabres have been much better on the road than they’ve been at home. For a fan base that hasn’t seen playoff hockey in 12 years, being bad at KeyBank Center is simply not an option, but thankfully right now, they’re winning these games late in the season at home.

Jets’ Inability to Beat Playoff Teams Is Becoming a Concern
March 14, 2024 by Connor Hrabchak
Since the calendar flipped to 2024, the Winnipeg Jets are 3-8 against playoff opponents. That in itself is concerning, but what has Jets fans up in arms recently, is how they are losing these big-ticket games. A 4-1 loss to the Stars in Dallas where the team came out flat, a 5-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Hockey Night in Canada, and just last night, a deflating 4-2 loss to the red-hot Nashville Predators, who are surging up the Western Conference standings and haven’t lost in regulation since Feb. 15th.
Flyers Should Buy Out Cam Atkinson in 2024 Offseason
March 14, 2024 by Justin Giampietro
It’s never an easy decision to buy out an NHL player, especially one as involved in his community as Cam Atkinson. Unfortunately, that might be the choice the Philadelphia Flyers have to make as they approach the offseason.
Behind Maple Leafs’ Auston Matthews’ Recent Slump
March 14, 2024 by JP Gambatese
Over the past eight games, Toronto Maple Leafs’ franchise center Auston Matthews has struggled a bit, at least relative to the blistering goal pace he’s put up this season. In that span, he’s tallied just two goals and four total points, bringing him to 54 and 80 respectively through 63 games. Averaging two goals every eight games would put Matthews at a respectable enough 20 goals in an 82-game span, but considering the incredible 77-goal pace he was repping before the slump, it’s somewhat alarming. His underlying statistics have taken a bit of a dip as well, indicating that it might not necessarily be just a streak of unluckiness.
