Maple Leafs Won’t Go Far with Samsonov in Net
April 25, 2024 by Rupert McDonald
The 2023-24 season has been a rollercoaster ride for Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov. The 27-year-old entered on a one-year extension, thanks in large part to helping lead the group to their first playoff series win in nearly 20 years. The love the city had for him thanks to that, however, quickly diminished following a horrific start in 2023-24.
Detroit Red Wings’ Salary Cap Mirage
April 25, 2024 by Tony Wolak
With the NHL moving to an $87.7 million salary cap for the 2024-25 season, the Detroit Red Wings are projected to have $29 million in cap space this summer. That’s plenty to address their needs, right?Â
Not so fast. Most of the $29 million is already spoken for. And because of this, Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman will need to get creative when improving his roster this offseason.

April 25, 2024 by Brian Finlayson

3 Keys to the Rangers Winning Games 3 & 4 in Washington
April 25, 2024 by Lucas Standel
The New York Rangers are off to a great start in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, winning their first two games against the Washington Capitals for a commanding 2-0 first-round series lead. Now, the series shifts to Washington D.C., for Games 3 and 4, and these games will be crucial for the Rangers. In their past two playoff series, New York has had a 2-0 series lead and went on to lose both of them – in 2022, they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning and in 2023 to the New Jersey Devils. Both experiences left a sour taste in the team’s mouth, and it should not happen again this season.
