Nylander Brushes Off Injury Questions, Citing Personal Reasons
April 26, 2024 by Jim Parsons
William Nylander is expected to be back for Game 4 in the series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins. But, he’s not coming back without adding a bit more drama to an already turbulent scene in Toronto. Nylander spoke with the media after taking part in practice on Friday and essentially brushed off injury issues that have kept him out of the first three games of the series.
Islanders’ Playoff Disappointment Reflective of Lamoriello’s Management
April 26, 2024 by Mike Fink
The New York Islanders are down 3-0 in the first round in what has been a one-sided series against the Carolina Hurricanes. They’ve been outplayed and it’s clear there is a gap between them and their opponent. The Islanders at best are a team that can make the playoffs and maybe pull off an upset in a series while the Hurricanes are destined to compete for the Cup.

Reasons the Lightning Are in a 3-0 Hole to the Panthers
April 26, 2024 by Nick Haydon
It is not easy for me to write this article. The Tampa Bay Lightning are down 3-0 against the Florida Panthers in the first round, and, call me pessimistic, but I have a sinking feeling a sweep is imminent. The Panthers deserve all the credit that can be given because they look like a Stanley Cup contender — the team is simply built for postseason success. The Lightning, however, have not done themselves any favors.

4 Major Reasons the Oilers’ Power Play Is Unstoppable
April 25, 2024 by Jim Parsons
The Edmonton Oilers’ power play is perhaps the most lethal weapon in the NHL. Firing at 57.1% in the playoffs over two games, it’s a deterrent for teams and a largely unstoppable force. When it doesn’t score, it is typically because the opposition’s goalie stole one or often by luck. What makes this power play so potent? It’s easy to say Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and in a manner of speaking, that would be accurate. But, the intricacies of how those two operate on the man advantage make the biggest difference.
