Senators’ Latest Front Office Moves Hints at What’s to Come
April 10, 2024 by Dayton Reimer
The Ottawa Senators’ 2023-24 season has been defined by patience. Michael Andlauer had to be patient when the sale of the team took far longer than expected, only taking ownership days before the season began. He needed patience after the NHL stripped the Senators of a first-round pick following the Evgenii Dadonov trade, which led to general manager Pierre Dorion being fired. Steve Staios also had to be patient in finding a new general manager, and after nearly two months, named himself and Dave Poulin as the duo to lead the front office. Before that, he had to fire head coach D.J. Smith, naming coaching consultant Jacques Martin as the interim head coach – a replacement still hasn’t been named.
3 Reasons for the Flyers’ End-Of-Season Collapse in 2023-24
April 10, 2024 by Justin Giampietro
On March 23, 2024, the Philadelphia Flyers had a 36-26-9 record, giving them 81 points in 71 contests and an all-but-certain postseason berth right in the palm of their hand. Less than three weeks later, they sit at 36-32-11 for 83 points in 79 contests with miracle-at-best odds to qualify for the playoffs.

Rangers’ Panarin Not Getting Enough Hart Trophy Consideration
April 10, 2024 by Lucas Standel
The Hart Trophy is awarded to the player considered most valuable to his team as voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association at the end of each season. In 2023-24, there are so many candidates that many deserving names won’t make the top five in voting, especially with Nikita Kucherov from the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nathan MacKinnon from the Colorado Avalanche, and Connor McDavid from the Edmonton Oilers as the unanimous top three for many.
Bruins Need to Focus on Division Title, Not Presidents’ Trophy
April 10, 2024 by Ryan Gagne
After a 4-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night, the Boston Bruins maintain a slim three-point cushion over the Florida Panthers atop the Atlantic Division standings. Last year’s opening-round opponents have been battling it out for first place for the second half of the season, with Florida recently holding the top spot briefly.
