Jets Drop Fifth Straight in Loss to Golden Knights
March 29, 2024 by Brian Finlayson
The Winnipeg Jets dropped their fifth consecutive game after losing 4-1 to the Vegas Golden Knights in front of a sold-out crowd at Canada Life Centre. The Jets played better in this one compared to the rest of their recent losses, but there isn’t much use in taking the moral victories when it’s this late in the season.
Canucks’ Rick Tocchet Deserves to Win Jack Adams Award
March 29, 2024 by Scott Clarke
There was a boatload of differing opinions on Rick Tocchet when he was hired to take over the Vancouver Canucks in January 2023. Was he too far removed from the game? Could a then-TV analyst lead the organization back to where it needs to be? Eyebrows were furrowed, belief was low and above all else, Canucks management took a huge risk again. However, 15 months later, he is one of the best behind the bench.
Rangers Need to Balance Push for No. 1 Seed With Player Rest
March 29, 2024 by Tom Castro
The New York Rangers were the first team to jump into the NHL playoffs with a 6-5 overtime victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on March 26, the “X” next to their name in the standings a welcome and inevitable reward for a season in which their elite talent level, depth of roster and drive allowed them to weather a rough winter stretch and overcome injuries to punch their ticket to the postseason.

Maple Leafs’ 2024 Offseason Plans for Their Free Agents
March 29, 2024 by Spencer Lazary
Last week I wrote an article about three Toronto Maple Leafs forwards who should be extended, which had the likes of Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, and Nick Robertson. Well, in this piece, let’s look at the Maple Leafs’ defence and goalies, who could be extended ahead of July 1, 2024, when unrestricted free agents (UFA) become available to all 31 other NHL teams.
Avalanche’s Winning Streak Showed Readiness for Playoffs
March 29, 2024 by Stefano Rubino
With just ten games left in the 2023-24 NHL regular season, the Colorado Avalanche are coming off one of their best stretches of the season. With the loss against the Montreal Canadians on March 26, 2024, the Canadians snapped the Avalanche’s nine-game winning streak that started on March 4 against the Chicago Blackhawks. That nine-game winning streak was tied for fourth in Avalanche history for longest winning streaks.
Canadiens Maybe Relishing Roles of Spoilers to End 2023-24 Too Much?
March 29, 2024 by Ryan Szporer
It’s interesting the Montreal Canadiens chose to win three games in a row for the first time in 2023-24, when they’re all but mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. “Worse” yet, two of the wins have come against playoff teams, one even against a Presidents’ Trophy contender in the Colorado Avalanche on March 26, in one of their most impressive games of the season. Those are games they should be losing, right?
