Ducks’ Offseason Acquisitions Revisited: Chris Pronger
August 1, 2024 by Jordan Reinhardt
Heading into the offseason, Anaheim Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek stated his desire to add a top-six forward or top-four defenseman. Both free-agent acquisitions and trades were on the table. Despite his best intentions (from what we know), he struck out on the former and has yet to do the latter. The market for available players and trade discussions has inevitably reached a simmer this offseason, so with the exception of a rare, late-offseason trade, we can expect the Ducks to head into training camp without accomplishing those aforementioned goals set by management before the offseason.Â
Every NHL Team’s Breakout Candidate in 2024-25
August 1, 2024 by Michael Ostrower
The biggest moves of the 2024 offseason have passed and the 2024-25 season is close to two months away, meaning it is the perfect time to start predicting how each NHL team will perform. Every season comes with countless shocking results and breakout stars. This season is expected to be no different as the caliber of skill in the league is at an all-time high. While it is obvious Connor McDavid and Cale Makar will continue their stardom, who are the lesser-known players poised to break out?
Ducks: Evaluating Cam Fowler’s Role in 2024-25 and Beyond
July 31, 2024 by Jordan Reinhardt
Cam Fowler is the longest active tenured Anaheim Duck. He made his debut in 2010-11, the season following Scott Niedermayer’s retirement, when the likes of Francois Beauchemin, Toni Lydman, and Luca Sbisa were patrolling the Ducks’ blue line. At the mere age of 32, he has already logged 14 seasons of NHL play, six of which have included 70 or more games played (plus an additional two of 67 and 69). He has never averaged less than 20:26 in ice time for a season. As the team’s best skater, defender, and power play quarterback, he has been the indisputable top dog on Anaheim’s blue line every minute since Niedermayer’s departure.

Ducks Prospects Who Could Debut in the NHL in 2024-25
July 29, 2024 by Charlie Hiller
As the calendar gets closer to August, a new NHL season is quickly approaching. The Anaheim Ducks are hoping for better fortune, as a 27-50-5 record last season extended their franchise-long playoff drought to six years. The Ducks have had a fair amount of roster turmoil in recent seasons as a rebuilding team, but a lot of this was done in the name of clearing space for a new generation of talent. Last season saw the NHL debuts of Leo Carlsson, Pavel Mintyukov, Tristan Luneau, Olen Zellweger, Cutter Gauthier, and Sam Colangelo, and this season could bring even more new names into the fold.

NHL Rumors: Ducks, Flyers, Maple Leafs
July 28, 2024 by Jim Parsons
In today’s NHL rumors rundown, one reader wanted to know why John Gibson hasn’t been traded by the Anaheim Ducks yet. Meanwhile, is Alexei Kolosov leaving the Flyers’ AHL affiliate and going back to the KHL? Finally, the Toronto Marlies have signed Alex Nylander to a one-year contract. Is this the first step to getting him some playing with the Maple Leafs next season?
