After three games into the first round of the 2024 NHL Playoffs, the Carolina Hurricanes have a 3-0 series stranglehold on the New York Islanders. Thursday, April 25 saw the team win the game 3-2 on the back of another masterclass from netminder Frederik Andersen who saved 29 of 31 shots to get his third win of the series. A lot of the media attention is focusing on how well Andersen has been playing for the Hurricanes along with the contributions from Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis, Jordan Martinook, etc. It is rightfully so as all three guys have been big contributors to the teams’ success in the first three games of the opening round..
Hurricanes Survive Game 1 to Lead Series Over Islanders

The 2024 NHL Playoffs are officially underway after a couple of Game 1’s of Round 1 started on Saturday, April 20. One of those games featured the Carolina Hurricanes facing the New York Islanders in the opening round once again. Both teams faced off in the first round back in the 2023 NHL Playoffs where the Hurricanes defeated the Islanders in six games. A year later, the two Metro Division sides square off once again in the quest for the Stanley Cup. As always, the atmosphere in PNC Arena was electric as the Hurricanes fans were ready to show why Carolina is the loudest house in the NHL. Once the puck dropped, the journey to the Stanley Cup Final began.

Hurricanes’ Andersen Helps Lead Team to 3-0 Series Stranglehold

What a year it’s been for Seth Jarvis of the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Carolina Hurricanes, after three games into the first round of the 2024 NHL Playoffs, have officially put a stranglehold on the series versus the New York Islanders. After winning 5-3 on Monday, April 22 in epic comeback fashion scoring five unanswered goals, they came back on Thursday, April 25 to extend their series lead. In Game 3, the Hurricanes defeated the Islanders 3-2 to take a 3-0 series lead with the chance to sweep the first-round matchup on Saturday, April 27. It was another night of Frederik Andersen making a case to throw his name into the Conn Smythe Trophy discussion after putting up a stellar performance in the net.
