Storm Watch: Andrei Svechnikov Making a Quiet Contribution in the First Round
Hurricanes' forward Svechnikov is quietly putting on a points clinic for the team in their first-round matchup versus the Islanders. What is he doing to help his team take a 3-0 series lead?
After three games into the first round of the 2024 NHL Playoffs, the Carolina Hurricanes have a 3-0 series stranglehold on the New York Islanders. Thursday, April 25 saw the team win the game 3-2 on the back of another masterclass from netminder Frederik Andersen who saved 29 of 31 shots to get his third win of the series. A lot of the media attention is focusing on how well Andersen has been playing for the Hurricanes along with the contributions from Sebastian Aho, Seth Jarvis, Jordan Martinook, etc. It is rightfully so as all three guys have been big contributors to the teams’ success in the first three games of the opening round.
However, there is a player who is making a great contribution to the winning efforts of the Hurricanes against the Islanders. Andrei Svechnikov has had himself an opening round of the 2024 NHL Playoffs in three games for the team from Raleighwood.
