Matthews Gives Leaf Fans Some Details About Missing Games 5 & 6
May 6, 2024 by Karine Hains
Once again, the battle between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins in the first round of the Playoffs didn’t disappoint, well aside from Leafs’ players, fans, and staff. It was a fast-paced matchup but tight coverage on both sides meant goals weren’t easy to come by. For the Maple Leafs, their best players needed to be on top of their game, but as luck would have it, that wasn’t the case for Auston Matthews.

How should we start this one? How could we start this one? On May 4, the Toronto Maple Leafs lost another heartbreaking Game 7 to the Boston Bruins, 2-1 in overtime of their first-round matchup in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Marner’s Extension Comments Hint He’s Not Waiving No-Move Clause
May 6, 2024 by Jim Parsons
Mitch Marner spoke with the media on Monday, as did most of the team as they were conducting their player exit meetings and cleaning out their locker rooms. Marner said his desire is to stay in Toronto long-term. Considering he’s got a current contract that expires at the end of next season and there is talk about offseason changes, those comments are intriguing, to say the least.

Maple Leafs Need to Move on From Either Marner or Rielly
May 6, 2024 by Spencer Lazary
Another year, another early playoff exit for the Toronto Maple Leafs. It seemed this year could be different; it felt different. They had so many different names, a different style, and a different vibe. Unfortunately, in all the “different,” it turned out to be the same as previous years.
Will Ilya Samsonov Be a Maple Leaf Next Season?
May 6, 2024 by The Old Prof
Many Toronto Maple Leafs fans blinked when they heard Joseph Woll would not be their team’s starting goalie for Game 7 of the playoffs against the Boston Bruins. After relieving Ilya Samsonov at the end of Game 4, Woll had been stellar in the third period of that game and then in Games 5 and 6. He had pulled the team back from a 3-1 series deficit to a 3-3 series tie. Fans were confident that, in Boston during Game 7, he could give them a similar performance, and their team would finally come back from the deficit to beat their old nemesis, the Bruins.

Toronto Maple Leafs fans were left heartbroken on Saturday (May 4) night after the Maple Leafs lost in Game 7 to the Boston Bruins with an overtime winner from David Pastrnak which sent him and the Bruins to Round 2. With that loss, the Maple Leafs have yet again failed to find a way to defeat the Bruins in the postseason and will have to go back to the drawing board for the 2024-25 season.
Sheldon Keefe’s Odd Quote Points a Finger at His Coaching Ability
May 5, 2024 by Jim Parsons
It’s not clear what Sheldon Keefe was trying to say when he said it, or if his comments came out as he intended them to, but the coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs gave up a sound bite that could come back to bite him. Speaking with the media after the series ended and the Maple Leafs’ Game 7 loss to the Boston Bruins, he noted, “When teams play the Leafs, they set up the game for the Leafs to beat themselves.” Using games three and four of their series with the Bruins as examples, he noted that Toronto beat themselves. He then added it was part of the Bruins’ game plan.
7 Cool Things About Mitch Marner
May 5, 2024 by Colton Pankiw
In the last three stories I did in this series, I covered more of the league’s quieter stars in players like Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, and to an extent Leon Draisaitl. In today’s, however, I decided to take on a player that embraces the media and doesn’t mind being the center of attention a bit more often, in Mitch Marner.
Maple Leafs’ Bad Injury Luck to Blame for Early Playoff Exit

It really felt different this year, didn’t it? After going down 3-1 in their first-round series versus the Boston Bruins, the Toronto Maple Leafs charged back and forced a Game 7. What was a scoreless game near the midway point of the third period shifted heavily in the Maple Leafs’ favor when William Nylander scored a goal 9:01 in.

May 5, 2024 by Peter Baracchini

Maple Leafs’ Core Four Respond to Talk of Split After Game 7 Loss
May 5, 2024 by Jim Parsons
The Toronto Maple Leafs lost another first-round matchup and the “core four” failed to take the team as far as early-season expectations would have suggested. Immediately after losing in Game 7 to the Boston Bruins, the media started asking questions of the team’s top stars, some specifically about what they believe needs to happen with the core moving forward.
Keefe cannot continue! Can’t win in playoffs.
Defense is lacking structure! Players allow a big goal by Marshand, alone on the red dot? Boys are wasting their time ! Good season, rotten playoffs! Need speed, discipline, defense structure, good hits, and a game plan !
Sideline Keefe. Get a big time head coach like a Berube with NHL experience! Defense must know how to stop an OT Rush like Pasternak!
Wide open net with puck loose from boards ?
A Joke !!!
