Defence is definitely lacking a lot of key pieces, Brodie and Giordano are getting older as well. If Marner is on the block (assuming he waives his no-move clause), I would see the Leafs adding to that space but I am eager to see to closer to Free Agency what the Leafs have in mind for that. I agree Keefe as well as the front office are in the hot seat right now, Shanahan is on the last year of his contract and Keefe hasn't gone further than the Second Round, I would expect coaching and front office changes first, with the exception of Brad Treliving because it was only his first year in Toronto and he's done fairly well so far drafting Cowan and preserving picks and prospects. A lot of work to do this offseason but right now they have to clean out the pricey contracts and I see Brodie and Giordano getting let go at Free Agency and then either Domi or Bertuzzi need contracts on offense.
Berube is probably the more reliable option but with the situation in Carolina right now regarding Brind'Amour and his contract, if Carolina doesn't want to pay him for an extension, I would go for him too after what he's done with Carolina in the past three years.
