Born in Karlskrona, Sweden, in 1991, Ekman-Larsson celebrated his 33rd birthday less than two weeks ago (July 17). While no longer in his prime, he has thus far completed a solid NHL career (with a notable setback in Vancouver) and made a name for himself as a standout defenseman.
