4 Teams That Could Acquire Edmonton Oilers’ Cody Ceci
July 11, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Edmonton Oilers have gone from being heartbroken after losing Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final to trading into the first round of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft to focusing on upgrading their team in hopes of making another deep run in the 2024-25 campaign. With several changes and additions including the signings of Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson, as well as a trade that saw Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio head to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Matthew Savoie, the Oilers may still need to move some money out to re-sign their restricted free agents (RFA). One potential trade candidate is defender Cody Ceci, who could have some interest from several teams around the NHL looking to upgrade their depth on the blue line. Here are four teams that could look to acquire Ceci if the Oilers do make him available.Â
Brian MacLellan’s Impact on Capitals’ Stanley Cup Team
July 10, 2024 by Nathan Moser
The Washington Capitals have had some very good general managers. Before building the Nashville Predators from their inception and being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2024, David Poile was the Capitals’ GM for 15 seasons. He brought in some of the best to ever play for the organization, like Rod Langway and Peter Bondra. Following Poile was George McPhee, who drafted Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, John Carlson, and Braden Holtby, among others, who were huge components in the franchise winning their first Stanley Cup championship in 2018.

Capitals Promote Patrick Among Management Changes
July 9, 2024 by Nathan Moser
The Washington Capitals have been very busy the last few weeks, shaping their roster for the 2024-25 NHL season. They added Pierre-Luc Dubois, Andrew Mangiapane, Jakob Chychrun, and Matt Roy, among other additions. With most of their on-ice moves in the rearview mirror, the organization announced they are changing things in the front office. Brian MacLellan, who has been general manager and president, will now become president of the club only. The general manager role now belongs to Chris Patrick, who was promoted.
