5 Players That Should Bounce Back in 2024-25
What's great about sports is that every season brings a new beginning and a clean slate.
When the 2024-25 season begins in October, everyone starts at zero and the previous campaign means nothing. Struggles are a thing of the past and players can begin anew. Let’s take a look at five players that should have fans and coaches cheering this season rather than wringing their hands in frustration.
Johnny Gaudreau, Columbus Blue Jackets
Johnny Gaudreau had a decent first season with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2022-23, hitting 74 points on a team decimated by injuries. He dropped off a cliff goals-wise with only 21 but still had 53 assists to make up for it. But, that all came crashing down last season when he fell to a career-low 12 goals. His assists didn’t soften the blow either as his 48 helpers only gave him 60 points. Taking away the shortened 2020-21 season where he had 49 points in 56 games, that’s his worst point total since 2019-20 where he had 58 points in 70 games.
