With a potential 2-0 series deficit against the Vancouver Canucks staring them in the face, as well as 18,960 fans of Rogers Arena, the Nashville Predators tweaked their game slightly to play the perfect road playoff game. The result was a 4-1 win and an example of grind-it-out, slow-motion hockey that might not excite many fans, but gets the job done. Now the Predators get to take Smashville back home for Games 3 and 4. Here are some takeaways from Tuesday’s Game 2.

If fans thought Game 1 of the first round series pitting the Nashville Predators versus Vancouver Canucks was a slugfest, that was but the tip of the iceberg. Nashville put in a textbook, shutdown road performance to down the Canucks 4-1 on Tuesday in Game 2 to tie the series 1-1 and claim home-ice advantage.Â
Canucks’ Demko Out for Game 2 and Potentially Series

The Vancouver Canucks’ path to the Stanley Cup just got a lot harder as starting goaltender Thatcher Demko has been ruled out for Game 2 and potentially the entirety of their first-round series against the Nashville Predators. Demko did not take part in the morning skate on Tuesday which raised eyebrows and was then ruled out with no specific timeline of when he will be expected to return to the Canucks goal crease. Demko missed time with an injury near the end of this season but returned for game 1 and helped the Canucks secure an opening victory to take a 1-0 series lead.

The Vancouver Canucks showed resilience and strategic brilliance as they overcame a deficit to defeat the Nashville Predators 4-2 in Game 1 of their first-round series on Sunday night. The game marked a noteworthy occasion as the Canucks hosted their first playoff game in nine years. Not since 2015 have they played in front of a home crowd. The team did not disappoint.
