Bruins Could Benefit if Montgomery Stops Experimenting
April 4, 2024 by Nick Abramo
Coach Jim Montgomery may eventually set the Boston Bruins’ four lines and defensive pairings, but for the near future, the lineup could remain in a state of flux.
Montgomery appeared to be close to solidifying things for a long stretch lately, but that was before a huge shakeup last week. Then, on Tuesday, in a 3-0 win over the Nashville Predators, Montgomery went back to the familiarity of what the four forward lines looked like prior to last week while continuing to switch the defensive pieces.
Bruins’ Focus on Responsibility Will Lessen Imprecision
April 1, 2024 by Nick Abramo
During fast-and-furious hockey, especially at the NHL level, split-second decisions can make or break you. For instance, take a recent Boston Bruins loss in which two inexact choices by defensemen in the heat of the moment led to both of the opponent’s non-empty net goals.
This is not a blame game, mind you, but more of an opinion on what led to the goals and what could have been done to make those goals less possible.
Pat Maroon’s Bruins’ Debut on the Horizon
April 1, 2024 by Brandon Share-Cohen
It shouldn’t be long until Pat Maroon makes his debut with the Boston Bruins. The Bruins acquired the veteran winger at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline in a deal that saw a conditional sixth-round pick and Luke Toporowski sent to the Minnesota Wild in exchange. Unfortunately, Maroon’s health status may not have been in a place the Bruins’ medical staff liked compared to that of the Wild, and this led to Maroon being removed from on-ice activities and placed on long-term injured reserve until he was deemed healthy.
Maroon I hope he plays a couple of games before the playoffs to see if he can play. He has to be at 110% or do not play him.
