3 Bruins Difference-Makers in the 2024 Playoffs
March 30, 2024 by Hannah Garfield
With less than 10 games to go before reaching the end of the regular season and currently sitting in first place in the Atlantic Division, the Boston Bruins have clinched a spot in the playoffs for the eighth season in a row (they have not missed it since the 2015-16 season). The real question for the team for most of the season was not whether they would make the postseason, but rather if they’d be able to make it out of the first round. They lost in seven games to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2022 and then famously flamed out last season to the Florida Panthers in seven games.

Things have gone well for the most part for the Boston Bruins in 2023-24 and it’s only fitting that they clinch a Stanley Cup Playoff berth on a night where they don’t play. In this edition of Bruins News & Rumors, the Black and Gold are officially in the postseason, a trade deadline acquisition is working his way back, a new defenseman is settling in with his team, will the Bruins prioritize rest ahead of the playoffs, and more.
Lightning Series Win Over Bruins Embodies Their 2023-24 Season
March 28, 2024 by Harrison Smajovits
With the season the Tampa Bay Lightning have had, this season-long outcome shouldn’t be the case. However, with a 3-1 win Wednesday night, they have won their season series over the Boston Bruins.
There’s something to be said about this feat. Last season was the opposite scenario: they lost three out of four. Despite the inconsistencies this season, this team refuses to give in to them. This series win over the Bruins reflects how they have continued to beat the odds.
Bruins may not last long in the playoffs if they continue to play like they have recently. CARLO needs to improve in the defence zone and if not he will give the other team at least 1 goal per game. The rest of the team need to stop trying to be the only player on the ice and shoot more them pass. Goalies need to stop giving the puck away along the boards and let the players try to get it out of the defence end. Remember Pasta/Marchie you do not a goal for figure skating or giving up the puck.
