Mika Zibanejad On the Cusp of a Hot Streak for Rangers
December 22, 2023 by Tom Castro
At long last, it appears that the Zibanejad Heater might finally be here.
The New York Rangers’ stunningly successful start to the season, one in which they’ve leapt out to a 22-7-1 mark, has come largely without their No. 1 center playing like the superstar he is for much of the early going. Yet Mika Zibanejad, who managed two goals in his first 17 games, seems like he’s in the early stages of one of the scoring binges that have defined his career with the Rangers.
Rangers’ Schneider & Gustafsson Have Stabilized Third D-Pair
December 22, 2023 by Brian Abate
The New York Rangers are leading the Metropolitan Division with a 22-7-1 record. With many of their key players missing time, they have gotten contributions throughout the lineup, including strong play from their third defense pair of Braden Schneider and Erik Gustafsson.
For the last few seasons, the Rangers have struggled to find a stable third defense pair and have traded for defensemen on expiring contracts midseason both last season and in 2021-22. However, this season, Schneider and Gustafsson are playing well, and the pair has played an important role in the team’s impressive start.
3 Former Rangers Who Could Return To Fill The Top-Six Void
December 19, 2023 by Lucas Standel
With no clear timeline for when Filip Chytil or Kaapo Kakko will return from injury, the New York Rangers will be playing without two of their top-six forwards for the foreseeable future. They have tried to put other players in the top-six, like Blake Wheeler and Jonny Brodzinski, but the results just haven’t been as good as they need to be.
The Rangers are going to be tight on cap space going into the trade deadline on March 8, 2024, but they have enough to make a move to help the team’s top-six going forward. With plenty of names on the market, here are three former Rangers who could end up back with the team to help fill the void.
