Anaheim Ducks 2024-25 Projected Lineup
July 26, 2024 by Corey Abbott
It has been six straight seasons without playoff hockey for the Anaheim Ducks. The team ranks last in the league in points percentage (.421), goals per game (2.50), penalty kill percentage (76.5), and shots per game (28.1) during that span. It has been a struggle for the organization and the fanbase, but brighter days may finally be on the horizon. The team has an exciting young core, with additional promising prospects poised to join the fold soon. There is plenty of optimism that they can learn and grow together to make the Ducks more competitive.
Ducks’ 2024-25 Bounce Back Candidates: Trevor Zegras
July 23, 2024 by Charlie Hiller
Trevor Zegras is one of the more polarizing players in the NHL. The 22-year-old Anaheim Ducks center has built quite a reputation since entering the league in 2021. His flashy style of play has led to a long highlight reel of incredible goals, deft puck movement, and jaw-dropping passes in just over 200 NHL games. When the league tries to sell itself to television audiences, Zegras is front and center. However, the NHL 23 co-cover athlete doesn’t have the body of work of the league’s superstars, thus a lot of the attention on him has turned negative. A recent anonymous player poll has him as the most overrated player in the NHL (from, “Anonymous NHL player poll 2024: Who’s the best player? Most overrated? Best goalie? Worst road city,” The Athletic, Jan. 31, 2024).

Red Wings Should Still Pursue John Gibson Trade
July 22, 2024 by Tony Wolak
Yes, the Detroit Red Wings have plenty of goaltending depth. That said, they should still pursue a trade to acquire John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks.
Gibson is still a highly talented goalie, and would be Detroit’s clear-cut No. 1 if acquired. It’s a rare circumstance where the future value of a veteran player will likely exceed his present value. The Red Wings need to jump on this opportunity before another team does. Here’s why.
Anaheim Ducks Logo History
July 21, 2024 by Anthony Ciardelli
Despite that they’ve only been around for 30 years, the Anaheim Ducks sure do like taking a walk down memory lane.
After he spent parts of six seasons with the team, the then-Mighty Ducks brought back Teemu Selanne for the 2005-06 season (and the eight that followed), four years after shipping him to the San Jose Sharks at the 2001 trade deadline.
Former Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle, too, is a retread. He first coached the club for seven seasons after the 2004-05 lockout (a tenure that included winning the 2007 Stanley Cup). He was rehired for 2016-17, guiding the Ducks to the Western Conference Final before being fired again in 2019.
Unsurprisingly, the Anaheim Ducks’ logo history bears the same commitment to nostalgia. What’s that? You prefer to think of it as a lack of imagination? I mean, how can you say a team that ripped off the title of a children’s movie lacks imagination? Especially when they were founded and owned (until 2005) by Disney, a company that tries to sell “platinum” and “remastered” editions of films that have been out for decades? Stop talking nonsense!
