Winnipeg Jets Need Top-Six To Click for Game 4
The Jets' top-six group of forwards have been struggling against the Avalanche in this first round.
Having a top-six with the makeup of Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi and Ehlers-Monahan-Toffilo is hard to complain about, but their play through the first three games of this series is a whole lot easier to find flaws in.
Offensively, the top line has been doing well as Scheifele has 5 points, Connor has 4, and Vilardi has 3. That is a good production level, but they still sit with just a shockingly low 41.9% in xGoals when on the ice. Despite good point productions, they are getting heavily exposed when on the ice.
The second line is the opposite of that. They aren’t producing, as they have just one point each, but have a slightly better xGoals percentage at 45.2%. That is still not good. The Jets need these players to do better if they want to regain any confidence from their fanbase.
