Wild’s Boldy & Special Teams Secure Win Over Golden Knights
February 13, 2024 by Mariah Stark (Holland)
The Minnesota Wild arrived in Vegas but not for the Super Bowl; they had their own game to play on Monday, Feb. 12, against the Vegas Golden Knights. It was a late start for Minnesota fans, but the Wild didn’t seem phased at all, even when they got down in the early seconds of the game off a flukey deflection.Â
The second period had many big chances and several penalties, but neither team could score, and it remained tied at two going into the third. The third period was about the goals as the Wild found their way to the back of the net twice before the Golden Knights answered back to keep themselves in it. The Wild kept the Golden Knights off the scoreboard for the rest of the period and even added one more to seal their win 5-3. The night’s talk was about Matt Boldy, and that’s where we’ll begin.Â
Wild’s GM Bill Guerin Right Choice for Team USA
February 12, 2024 by Mariah Stark (Holland)
It’s been a busy week with trade rumors swirling and the NHL announcing they would allow players to compete in the 2026 and 2030 Winter Olympics. A few days after that announcement, the Team USA higher-ups named the Minnesota Wild’s general manager (GM) and president of hockey operations, Bill Guerin, the GM of Team USA. He’ll serve in that role for the 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off and the 2026 Winter Olympics.Â
He was supposed to serve in the role in 2022, but the NHL pulled out of the Olympics because of COVID-19 issues. He’s getting a second chance at the job, and he’s the right guy for it. In this article, we’ll explore why he’s the right choice.Â
Minnesota Wild Candidates for 2026 Winter Olympics
February 11, 2024 by Mariah Stark (Holland)
After the recent announcement that the NHL will allow players to participate in the 2026 and 2030 Winter Olympics, many have speculated who will be on those rosters. It’s still two years away, so a lot can happen in that time, but certain players will surely be there, barring injuries. It’s also important to remember that NHL team rosters will also change in that time.Â
The Hockey Writers’ Tony Wolak wrote projections for the United States, Canada, Finland, and Sweden, who will be competing in the Olympics in 2026, and while three Wild players made the list, that doesn’t mean there won’t be more. In this article, we’ll look at each country and the possible players on those rosters, and we’ll start with Team USA.Â
