Flames Have Inexpensive Scoring Winger Available In Tomas Tatar
August 11, 2023 by Rupert McDonald
Barring a sudden change of heart, it appears that Calgary Flames general manager Craig Conroy is set to begin the 2023-24 season with his roster the way it is. Despite numerous reports that several players entering the final year of their respective contracts are strongly considering heading elsewhere, Conroy doesn’t seem to be willing to move them, at least not yet.
Calgary Flames’ Hot Streaks to Watch This Season
August 11, 2023 by Ben Hockley
In every hockey season and every hockey career, there are both ups and downs. No matter how good you are or how long you play, that is just the nature of the sport. Sometimes these ups and downs can be team specific rather than just confined to a time period. On such streaks, a player, for at times an unexplainable reason, takes their game to another level whenever they step on the ice against a specific opponent. The current Calgary Flames players are no different. Here are some current hot streaks to keep an eye on entering the 2023-24 season.
Flames Have Some Great Goalie Storylines to Follow This Season
August 12, 2023 by Ryan Ventura
It is no secret to fans of the Calgary Flames that the goaltending duo of Dan Vladar and Jacob Markstrom did not get the job done in 2022-23. Markstrom regressed from a year prior, and both goalies ended the season with a sub-.900 save percentage (SV%). On top of that, it seemed that they lacked the ability to make clutch saves when it mattered most; had they been able to, the Flames likely would have made the playoffs. There is reason, however, to believe that they will have a much steadier situation in net this season. It seems possible – if not likely – that Markstrom will have a bounce-back year, and Vladar will likely be replaced by prospect Dustin Wolf, who has shown a ton of potential in his young career so far. With this in mind, Flames fans should be excited about their duo in net this season.
