While the team’s 2017 draft class receives (and deserves) a ton of praise for shaping the future of the franchise, the Stars’ scouting team hasn’t stopped adding quality prospects since then. The Dallas Stars had a strong campaign in 2022-23, finishing second in the Central Division with a 47-21-14 record. They made an incredible run to the Western Conference final and conceded to the eventual Stanley Cup champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, in an amazing six-game series. They will be contenders again and are one of the favorites heading into the 2023-24 season. They are only a few pieces away from being able to hoist the Cup, and bringing in Kuznetsov to bolster their top-six forward group could make them unstoppable.
5 Dallas Stars Prospects That Could Make NHL Roster in 2023-24

The Dallas Stars are the envy of many teams across the NHL – and if they aren’t, they should be. Not only do they have a championship-caliber roster heading into the 2023-24 season, but they also have more than a handful of prospects that should be knocking on the NHL’s door this season. Because of this, they are set up to be a problem in the Western Conference for the foreseeable future.
While the Stars simply have too many bodies in place for all of their top prospects to join the team right out of the gate, the roster is always a fluid situation as players come and go for various reasons. When opportunities present themselves, these are the prospects that could step in and fill a role in the NHL.
