There are plenty of events on the NHL calendar that draw much excitement. Of course, things like the first game of the season and the All-Star Game, among others, are highlights of each NHL season. However, one that stands out from them all is none other than the NHL Draft, where dreams are made for the players getting drafted. Whether on TV or in person, it’s an event that is a must-watch, and it never fails with endless action and entertainment.Â

Hours before the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery, a post on Twitter/X showed what seemed to be the lottery results, which saw Utah jump four spots, picking second overall. Of course, this would be the only time the team would’ve moved up in Arizona Coyotes/Utah history. That image was deemed to be a rehearsal and has since been deleted. It was too good to be true, as there was no movement in the NHL Draft Lottery.

It’s been around a month since the NHL transferred the sale of the Arizona Coyotes’ hockey operations from Alex Meruelo to Ryan Smith, who has moved them to Salt Lake City. The difference between the two of them has been noticeable, almost like night and day. It shows how strong a good owner can be in the community and within the actual franchise with a little bit of effort.Â

NHL Utah’s First Ever Draft Pick Will Be 6th Overall

For the second straight season, general manager Bill Armstrong will have the sixth overall pick in the NHL Draft. However, this season, it’ll be the first time he’ll be drafting a team to the new NHL team in Utah.
