Glass, Novak are Bright Spots in Predators’ Loss to Devils
February 14, 2024 by Emma Lingan
“Frustrating,” “disappointing” and “unacceptable” were among the descriptors used by the Nashville Predators following their 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Despite the result, however, young forwards Cody Glass and Tommy Novak proved to be bright spots against the Devils. The former assisted on both of Nashville’s goals, while the latter found the back of the net for his second goal in as many games.
Two of Nashville’s most promising young centers have suddenly found success at new positions. Shifting from center to the wing significantly lessens a player’s defensive responsibilities and allows him to simplify his game, and it has paid off handsomely for Novak and Glass.

Predators Shake Up Offense in Effort to Remain in Playoff Race
February 12, 2024 by Emma Lingan
The Nashville Predators reassigned forward Philip Tomasino to the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League on Monday. The team also recalled forwards Egor Afanasyev and Mark Jankowski from Milwaukee, putting Nashville’s NHL roster at the league maximum of 23 players.
The moves were likely made to jumpstart the Predators’ floundering offense as the team seeks to remain competitive in the battle for a playoff position down the stretch. Afanasyev and Jankowski are leading Milwaukee’s scoring charge, while Tomasino has struggled with consistency at the NHL level this season.
Maple Leafs Should Target Tyson Barrie for the Right Price
February 12, 2024 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a strong lineup with one month left until the trade deadline, but it would be surprising if they didn’t try to pursue some upgrades on their blue line. While they have some options heading into the deadline, one player who will surely be traded this season is Nashville Predators’ defender Tyson Barrie. Back in December, the Predators permitted Barrie to speak with other teams in hopes of facilitating a trade. He spent one season with the Maple Leafs for his 2019-20 campaign where he scored five goals and added 34 assists for 39 points through 70 games. While he could be an upgrade on the right side of the blue line for the Maple Leafs overall, his defensive game isn’t great and a trade would be quite complex.
