‘Everything’s on the table’ for Flyers ahead of Trade Deadline, GM says
The Philadelphia Flyers could be buyers and sellers ahead of the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline at 3 p.m. ET on March 8.
With the Flyers (31-23-7) in third place in the Metropolitan Division and in position to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2020, general manager Daniel Briere said Friday that they could make a depth trade to help bolster the lineup for the postseason push as long it doesn’t interfere with their rebuilding plan.

NHL trade deadline buzz: Noah Hanifin, Jake Guentzel and the goalie market
The NHL trade deadline is a week away, and while calls around the league are heating up, expectations are being tempered. I spoke to one general manager this week who cautioned that things seem "a little slow." He called it a thin market, with few impact players available as rentals.
"But it could mean we get more surprises of players being moved that you don't expect," the GM said. "And that could be exciting."
How Patrice Bergeron influenced a new wave of defensive forwards
"What's it like knowing the Selke Trophy competition is finally open now that Patrice Bergeron has retired?"
Asking this question of two-way players such as Aleksander Barkov, Elias Lindholm and Ryan O'Reilly, among others, made them all feel some things. At first? It was laughter because of the nature of the question given Bergeron's chokehold on the Selke, winning six times -- the most of any player in NHL history.

Penguins prefer prospects over picks for Jake Guentzel
When it comes to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Jake Guentzel, a trade involving the pending unrestricted free agent has seemingly become more of a matter of when than if.
We know he's likely moving, we just don't know where or for what return.
However, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Penguins would prefer to receive prospects over draft picks in exchange for Guentzel.
