Penguins’ Team Chemistry the Early Focus in Training Camp
October 2, 2023 by Ben Wagner
Much has been made of Pittsburgh Penguins’ president of hockey ops Kyle Dubas‘ offseason moves and how they can help the team improve on their most disappointing season in recent memory. Through all the speculation, it remained to be seen how all the new faces would mesh with the Penguins’ established stars. Camp began just over a week ago and the team has just made the first series of cuts, trimming the roster to 47 players. The first scrimmage games have been played and Dubas and company are truly beginning to see what’s in store for 2023-24.
Many of the new additions bring welcome experience to a team that struggled mightily last season, especially down the stretch. The chemistry is already starting to emerge as the regulars get their reps.
Penguins Head Coach Has Something to Prove
September 30, 2023 by Sylvie McCarthy
With preseason underway, the Pittsburgh Penguins new and improved roster will soon be on display for the world to see. The Penguins will begin their regular season on October 10 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Kyle Dubas, president of hockey operations and general manager, has spent the summer bringing in plenty of talent on both sides of the puck. After Pittsburgh missed the playoffs last year for the first time in over a decade and a half, it was clear that changes needed to be made. However, one thing that stayed the same this summer was head coach Mike Sullivan. One of the biggest question marks heading into the season is whether or not Sullivan will be able to align himself with Dubas’s vision.
