NHL 2023-24 Power Rankings: Week 24
March 18, 2024 by Eugene Helfrick
The final weeks of the NHL season are a mixture of the best and worst the sport has to offer. On one end of the spectrum, you have the contenders fighting it out for postseason positioning, with teams being eliminated in dramatic fashion leading up to the end of the regular season. On the other side, we have those franchises who are done selling off the top pieces of their roster and are just playing out the stretch, which can lead to some lopsided games.
Predicting the Maple Leafs’ 2024 Stanley Cup Playoff Roster
March 18, 2024 by Spencer Lazary
We are only 16 games away from the 2024 NHL Playoffs, and now is when coaches experiment with different line combinations. The Toronto Maple Leafs experiments are in full force due to injuries. Head coach Sheldon Keefe lost both Mitch Marner and Calle Jarnkrok to injuries within a week of each other, which means that the top line is missing their first and second options. Keefe has had to get creative, which should make it much easier to adjust when injuries occur in the postseason.

With less than 20 games left in the 2023-24 season, the Washington Capitals are hoping to make a final push for the last wild card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. With the team focused on returning to the postseason, captain Alex Ovechkin is on the cusp of his 19th consecutive 20-goal season. Through 63 games this season, Ovechkin has scored 19 goals with 16 games remaining in the regular season.
3 Canucks Prospects to Watch in Abbotsford Before AHL Playoffs
March 18, 2024 by Matthew Zator
With 12 games remaining on their schedule, the Abbotsford Canucks sit sixth in the Pacific Division with 68 points, 12 clear of the eighth-place Henderson Silver Knights and two up on their rival the Calgary Wranglers. The top seven teams in the division make the playoffs, so unless they have a massive meltdown in their final games and the Silver Knights go on a winning streak, they will be competing for the Calder Cup for the third straight year since entering the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2021.
