Garland-Hronek Scuffle Highlights Canucks’ Thursday Practice
March 15, 2024 by Scott Clarke
After blowing a 3-0 lead in a tough 4-3 OT loss against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday, March 13, head coach Rick Tocchet oversaw a pretty event-filled practice the following day. Defensive pairs were switched again, a skirmish between teammates broke out and even better, it was picture day!
Flames’ Wolf Slams the Door on Critics and Golden Knights
March 15, 2024 by Rupert McDonald
Calgary Flames prospect Dustin Wolf had high expectations placed on his shoulders after being named goaltender of the year in back-to-back American Hockey League (AHL) seasons, along with the AHL’s MVP award in 2022-23. But since the Flames already have goaltenders Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar under contract, Wolf started the 2023-24 season in the AHL with the Calgary Wranglers.

Devils Should Shift Thinking on Newly Acquired Goaltenders
March 15, 2024 by Daniel Amoia
The New Jersey Devils’ goaltending situation has been a catastrophe, with their .892 save percentage (SV%) ranking second-worst in the league. In the final hours leading up to the trade deadline, they dealt a struggling Vitek Vanecek to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), Kaapo Kahkonen. They also acquired 33-year-old Jake Allen from the Montreal Canadiens, who has one additional year left on his deal.
Bruins’ DeBrusk Surging in March
March 15, 2024 by Brandon Share-Cohen
It’s no secret that Boston Bruins’ forward Jake DeBrusk has had a down season just one year after putting up the best offensive point production of his career. DeBrusk would record his highest goals-per-game total in a season, scoring 27 goals while also reaching the 50-point mark for the first time in his career in just 64 games last season. This season, however, DeBrusk has scored just 16 goals and 34 points through 66 games and has seemingly felt the retirement of Patrice Bergeron more than anybody.
Sabres Need To Make Better Use of JJ Peterka
March 15, 2024 by Jacob D. Strozyk
As the season progresses, the Buffalo Sabres have seen the production and development of JJ Peterka. He has grown from a playmaking forward with some solid scoring touch, to a goal scorer with solid playmaking abilities. The script flipping on how he approaches the game has been exciting to watch and has been one of the best parts of their season. The Sabres have lacked consistent goal-scoring all season, but Peterka has been one of their best despite being moved around the lineup. Instead of shuffling him around, I think it would be better to give him a solidified spot on the top line for the remainder of the season.
