Evander Kane Reportedly Causing Rift in Oilers Dressing Room
February 27, 2024 by Rupert McDonald
On the ice, there is plenty to like about Evander Kane. Though streaky, he is an excellent goal scorer, and he adds an element of toughness that is rare to find in players with his skill set. Both his goal-scoring and physical abilities have been beneficial to the Edmonton Oilers, though there have been some hiccups in 2023-24.
Avalanche Running Out of Top-Six Center Trade Targets
February 27, 2024 by Marko Zlomislic
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline is now less than two weeks away (Mar. 8), but the Colorado Avalanche have yet to address the biggest hole in their lineup – second-line center. Any team running a quartet of Nathan MacKinnon, Ryan Johansen, Ross Colton, and Fredrik Olofsson (before being sent down) up the middle should be a comfortable playoff outfit, and the group has been true to form thus far.
Outdated Barns: 5 NHL Arenas That Need to Be Replaced
February 27, 2024 by Michael Golden
Over the past decade, several NHL teams have built brand-new arenas. In most cases, it was sorely needed. The Edmonton Oilers moved out of the old and decrepit Rexall Place in 2016 and into the beautiful downtown facility, Rogers Place. The Red Wings left the iconic but severely dated Joe Louis Arena in 2017 and entered the new Little Ceasars Arena. After years of bouncing between the now 52-year-old Nassau Coliseum and the Barclays Center, the Islanders finally had a state-of-the-art arena to call their own when UBS Arena opened in 2021.

With 24 games remaining on their schedule, the Detroit Red Wings are currently sitting in a playoff spot. Fans in Hockey Town have been dreaming of important games in March for years now and the team has finally delivered. Flames’ Hanifin Improved Trade Value In Big Game Versus Oilers
February 27, 2024 by Rupert McDonald
At some point between now and the March 8 2024 Trade Deadline, Noah Hanifin will be wearing a different jersey. The Calgary Flames were unable to get him locked up to a long-term deal as they had originally hoped, making it a foregone conclusion that his days with the organization are limited.
3 Deadline Moves the Blues Could Make to Surprise Fans
February 27, 2024 by Evan Mead
The St. Louis Blues find themselves in a precarious position. Currently occupying the fifth spot in the highly competitive Central Division standings, they are tied with the surging Minnesota Wild, leaving little room for error as the season progresses. Complicating matters further is the tight race in the Pacific Division, where teams like the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames are vying for wild card spots, intensifying the pressure on the Blues to secure their position in the standings. With the playoff race heating up and every point crucial, the Blues face a challenging predicament as they navigate through a fiercely competitive league.
