Boston Bruins Lineup Battles to Watch for in 2023-24
August 26, 2023 by Scott Roche
The Boston Bruins enter the 2023-2024 season with a new-looking roster and a lot of questions. Some of the questions facing second-year coach Jim Montgomery is just how the lineup is going to look like on opening night against the Chicago Blackhawks at the TD Garden on Oct. 13. Will this be the year that some prospects make the jump to the NHL and make an impact?
That is just one of the lineup questions facing the Bruins this season and here are some training camp battles to keep an on eye when they open camp at Warrior Ice Arena in mid-September.
Bruins’ Lucic Should Provide Boost to Bottom-Six This Season
August 25, 2023 by Hannah Garfield
One of the most exciting pieces of news of the Boston Bruins’ 2023 offseason was the return of Milan Lucic to the team. He was signed to a one-year, $1 million deal on July 1 at the start of free agency. Needless to say, both he and the franchise are quite excited for his return.
The last few years have not been the kindest to Lucic as he has gotten older and he is not the same player that he was when he departed Boston nearly a decade ago. But he is coming off of a positive experience at the World Championship earlier this summer. With his experience and hopefully a boost from his return to Boston, he may just be better than people are anticipating in 2023-24.
Bruins’ 3 Keys to Success in 2023-24
August 25, 2023 by Scott Roche
As the Boston Bruins look ahead to the 2023-24 season, there seem to be more questions than answers. There were some big roster changes with free agents leaving for other teams and the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. Looking at the potential roster on paper, it’s easy to see why there could be some doubt as to how good the Black and Gold can be compared to the rest of the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference.
There was the same doubt entering last season and all they did under first-year coach Jim Montgomery was set records for wins and points in a season before losing in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Florida Panthers. If the Bruins are going to have any kind of success this season and make it back to the postseason, these three keys will go a long way toward making that happen.
