Recapping the Coyotes’ Jam-Packed 2023 Offseason
September 15, 2023 by Cooper Krigbaum
It was a disappointing night for all Arizona Coyotes fans on May 16 when the Tempe Entertainment District was rejected in a public vote. What was thought to be a dream come true for the Coyotes was suddenly evaporated into thin air. There was speculation afterward where they might relocate, constantly hearing cities such as Quebec, Houston, Salt Lake City, and much more.
There was a lot of uncertainty about what direction the team would be going in after such a heartbreaking night. In the end, it turns out that they had one of the best offseasons in franchise history, adding key players in various ways. With that said, here’s a recap of the Coyotes’ jam-packed 2023 summer.
2023 Coyotes Rookie Camp Roster & Information
September 15, 2023 by Richard Jelinek
The 2023 Arizona Coyotes rookie camp is about to get underway, and there is excitement in the air. With prospects and recent draft picks, there is plenty of young talent represented here. Arizona has some of its best young stars in this tournament, as some of them will be taking the ice for the first time as part of the organization.
The rookie tournament takes place from Friday, Sept. 15 through Monday, Sept. 18 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament includes prospects and draft picks from the Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, Colorado Avalanche, and the host team, the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Math Behind the Coyotes’ Preseason Tour
September 13, 2023 by Chase Beardsley
Did you know the Arizona Coyotes haven’t played a preseason game at home in two years, or, at least, a game in or around Phoenix, Arizona? The team has had maybe the worst preseason schedule since moving to Tempe during the construction of Mullett Arena last season and the busy schedule at the arena this season.
With that, the Coyotes will be all over North America, so I thought it would be fun to compare the Coyotes’ preseason schedule to other teams around the league. The Coyotes’ worldwide tour will be split-squad to begin the preseason (and probably most of the preseason), as half of the team will fly to Melbourne, Australia, to play the Los Angeles Kings in the first NHL games in the country.
