Coyotes Have a Wealth of Draft Picks in Future Years
September 22, 2023 by Cooper Krigbaum
After the resignation of former general manager (GM) John Chayka and the turmoil he left the organization in, there needed to be a new voice, a new leader. When Bill Armstrong was hired, there was a glimmer of hope, a sense of optimism that things could be turned around and he could change the culture in Arizona. He had previously done it in St. Louis, where he helped draft Jordan Kyrou, Vladimir Tarasenko, and Colton Parayko.
However, this was Armstrong’s first go-around as a GM and, most importantly, his first try at rebuilding an organization that has always seemed to be in the media for the wrong reasons. The 53-year-old is entering his fourth season as GM, and he has added an abundance of draft capital to propel the future. From trading for bad contracts to dealing away assets for draft selections, the Coyotes sit in a comfortable position regarding draft capital. With that said, let’s break down the future of draft picks in the Coyotes organization.
Coyotes Keep Jenik in Fold With New Deal
September 22, 2023 by Richard Jelinek
The Arizona Coyotes and forward Jan Jenik have agreed to a contract extension to the terms of a one-year, two-way deal with an average annual value of $775,000 at the NHL level and $125,000 guaranteed. He was scoreless in two games with Arizona last season. He was a restricted free agent before re-signing with the club.
The 6-foot-1 and 185-pound forward was an elite point producer with the Hamilton Bulldogs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played only two seasons there but, in that time, scored 35 goals and assisted on 51 others for 86 points and 79 penalty minutes in 54 games. Seeing his ability, Arizona drafted him 65th overall in the 2018 NHL Draft.
8 Predictions for the Coyotes’ 2023-24 Season
September 21, 2023 by Chase Beardsley
This upcoming Arizona Coyotes season might be the most anticipated in the franchise’s history since maybe the 2019-20 season. The team’s young core is slowly being placed together, and the rookies are starting to make their way into the lineup.
There are a lot of possibilities that could happen with the team over this next season, so I decided to put together some (bold) predictions for this upcoming 2023-24 season.
