Senators and Ducks Could Both Benefit from Norris/Zegras Swap

The Ottawa Senators and Anaheim Ducks are both in a tough spot with restricted free agents (RFA) that need to be resolved as soon as possible. The Ducks have Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale unsigned as the team enters the preseason while the Senators don’t have the money to lock up Shane Pinto. With rumors surrounding Zegras’ future in Anaheim, there is potential for a win-win situation between the two teams.
Blockbuster deals are not as rare as they once were. We have seen giant trades including Matthew Tkachuk, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jack Eichel and more over the past few seasons, and while this might not be on the same magnitude, a deal involving Josh Norris and Zegras could make a lot of sense.
Will the Ducks’ Next Captain Be a Veteran or a Young Guy?

Preseason hockey is back, which means regular season hockey is around the corner. Headlines are abundant already. Conor Bedard thought he debuted poorly despite producing two primary assists in 21 minutes played. Mark Stone got leveled by a Los Angeles Kings player he later on (in so many words) called a nobody. Logan Cooley of the Arizona Coyotes scored a goal-of-the-year candidate in Australia! And in Orange County, the Ducks are undefeated, Sam Carrick leads the team in points, and Jackson LaCombe scored the game-winning goal in overtime the other night.
We’ve covered the training camp happenings so far for the Anaheim Ducks. We all know the main ones – Leo Carlsson looks good, Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale remain disappointingly and curiously absent, and so on. A fun hypothetical we should all be interested in is who will emerge as the front-runner to lead this franchise as its captain and when. Let’s look into some factors and players that will play into the equation.
Anaheim Ducks’ Storylines From Training Camp

Training camp is well underway and October is just around the corner. The Anaheim Ducks still have plenty of work to do before the start of the 2023-24 season. Head coach Greg Cronin has been busy implementing the team’s new systems and getting to know his players. Meanwhile, Anaheim general manager (GM) Pat Verbeek still has to sign key restricted free agents (RFA) Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale. The Ducks have plenty of roster decisions to make between now and opening night.
