Hosted by Kyle Knopp and Matthew Zator, The Hockey Writers Podcast is where your favourite THW contributors discuss the hottest topics around the NHL and hockey world, five days a week (Monday to Friday). In today's episode, Kyle and Matt are joined by veteran referee Tim Peel to preview the upcoming 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He first talks about the officiating in the playoffs versus the regular season and then gives his thoughts on all the series in the West from the St Louis Blues' potent attack of nine 20-goal scorers, the Edmonton Oilers' pursuit of playoff success, the Nashville Predators' chances against the Colorado Avalanche and more. He also takes a look at the East where every team has at least 100 points and discusses the Toronto Maple Leafs battling back-to-back Champion Tampa Bay Lightning and whether they can finally get out of the first round.
In the second half, Tim talks about why he is rooting for Joe Thornton to win the Cup, Patrick Maroon's reaction when Corey Perry was signed and who could potentially pull off what the Montreal Canadiens and Dallas Stars did and surprisingly make the Stanley Cup Final when no one expected them to.
