Welcome to the THW Detroit Red Wings post-game report, where we bring an instant reaction, recap, and analysis of the action that transpired on the ice in tonight’s action against the Calgary Flames.
The Red Wings returned home to take on the Calgary Flames Sunday evening in hopes of extending their win streak to five games.
The Wings got off to a quick start in the game, scoring twice in the first ten minutes of the game with Alex DeBrincat scoring just over two minutes into the game thanks to a solid pass from Justin Holl behind the Calgary net for a shot from DeBrincat that squeezed through Flames goalie Dan Vladar’s pads. The Wings extended their lead to 2-0 before the end of the period thanks to a forecheck forced turnover in the offensive zone leading to Joe Veleno scoring his third goal in two games. Goalie James Reimer looked solid again to start the game, stopping all nine shots he faced in the period.
