Capitals Look To Continue Hot Start Against Islanders
The Washington Capitals have started their 2023-24 season off quite well with a 4-3-1 record to open the new campaign. They face off tonight againsrt the New York Islanders who have been a bit better starting out with a 4-2-2 record. The Caps will continue to be without Max Pacioretty, Joel Edmundson and Nic Dowd due to injury, and are expected to roll with goaltender Darcy Kuemper between the pipes.
The Capitals are on a three-game winning streak entering tonight’s matchhup and will be hoping to continue that hot streak. They have been playing quite well as of late, but will need to pick it up offensively if they hope to be able to defeat the Isles, who have had strong defensive play and solid goaltending.
Capitals Should Target Hoglander in Mantha Trade With Canucks
November 2, 2023 by Jesse Courville-Lynch
One of those potential trade pieces is forward Anthony Mantha, who has one year left on his contract worth $5.7 million. He has one goal and one assist for two points through seven games and has been a fourth-line forward to start the season while having been a healthy scratch for one game. All signs are pointing to the 2023-24 season being the last for Mantha with the Capitals, whether he’s traded or not, but the team should try to move him and bring in some assets.
NHL Rumors: Senators, Capitals, Maple Leafs, Flames
November 1, 2023 by Jim Parsons
The Washington Capitals have started the 2023-24 campaign well, and while they’re not winning as much as they wanted to open up the season, they’re showing signs of what could be a very successful team come playoff time. While they are looking to find more success than last season as they push towards the second Stanley Cup in their franchise’s history, some of the team’s top prospects have started their own 2023-24 season away from the Capitals and have looked quite strong.
