Surging Takeaways: Hurricanes at Flyers - Carolina Doesn't Show Brotherly Love in Win
The Hurricanes did not bring the love to the city of Philly as they extended their winning streak to three games after their 3-2 win on Monday night. Carolina took an early lead on a Stefan Noesen goal but ultimately ended the first period down 2-1 after two, some would call soft, goals. However, once the second goal went in, Andersen stole the show as he made huge save, after a huge save to keep the Hurricanes in the game.
Michael Bunting would tie the game in the second period on the power play. The goal was a huge one as earlier in the period a Jack Drury marker was called back for offsides. The third period got absolutely bonkers as Carter Hart and Andersen traded game-saving saves after game-saving saves. Talk about a back-and-forth game with two goals stealing the show.
Ultimately, the Hurricanes did win the game as Teuvo Teravainen stays hot to seal the game-winning goal in the third period. The goal was his 8th of the season and a huge win to secure the win for Carolina.
