If you’ve followed the Arizona Coyotes, it’s obvious they’ve had no luck with the draft lottery, where they’ve never moved up once. The highest they’ve drafted has been third overall, where they’ve selected Kyle Turris and Dylan Strome at that spot. These two players didn’t pan out in the desert as Turris was rushed to the NHL, and Strome was just not producing at the level a third-overall pick should be.
John Marino Excited to Help Utah Win Early

It wasn’t surprising when John Marino was traded by the New Jersey Devils. A trade had been on the horizon with the defenseman’s modified no-trade clause kicking in within a couple of days. However, it was surprising that he was traded to the Utah Hockey Club which had just swung a trade to acquire Mikhail Sergachev minutes before acquiring Marino.

Rise of Utah GM Bill Armstrong: The Quest for a Cup

Five and a half years. That is the average tenure of an NHL general manager today. Long ago, before Bill Armstrong joined the Arizona Coyotes (now Utah Hockey Club), he was a player. He spent several seasons in the American Hockey League with the Hershey Bears and Providence Bruins until he retired, earning a coaching role with the Bruins. He maintained that position for four years until he was hired by the Trenton Titans of the ECHL, where he was head coach for two seasons.
