Some Clarification Behind the Evander Kane "Rift" Rumors With Oilers

Is there really a problem or is Kane being branded a villain?

Recently, a post was published on The Hockey Writers by Rupert McDonald that hinted at a possible “rift” between forward Evander Kane and the Oilers dressing room. The article has garnered a ton of attention, with a number of the comments on the post branding Kane a problem. Even the host of the podcast (Got Yer’ Back’s Ryan Rishaug) from which the quotes were taken addressed the article on Wednesday night’s show.

Needless to say, he wasn’t a fan. He called the article garbage, with a ridiculous headline and one that twisted what he believed was an intelligent conversation into something that was “not at all what we were saying on this podcast.”

To ensure Kane was either being fairly criticized or clear up any assumptions leading to fans piling up on him without good reason, I did some additional digging.
