Arturs Silovs’ Confidence Soaring With Vancouver Canucks’ Win

With Thatcher Demko out with an injury, the Vancouver Canucks have turned to young Latvian goalie Arturs Silovs to back up Casey DeSmith. Silovs is a promising youngster who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 203 pounds. Interestingly, he’s a left-hander.
Canucks’ Hughes Sets Single-Season Record for Assists by Defenceman

After scoring the opening goal for the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday against the Arizona Coyotes, Quinn Hughes added an assist on the go-ahead goal with under two minutes left in the third period — scored by Conor Garland. The assist was his 70th of the season, setting a new single-season franchise record for assists by a defenceman, previously set by — you guessed it — Hughes himself. He tallied 69 assists in 2022-23, but surpassed his own mark with six games left on the Canucks’ regular season schedule.

On March 9, in a 5-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets, Vancouver Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko exited the game midway through the second period after stopping all 12 shots he faced. The reason for his departure remained undisclosed, raising concerns about his status.
