Sharks’ Newest Prospects Are Low-Risk, High-Reward Additions
March 10, 2024 by William Espy
The Sharks made a few major trades ahead of Friday’s trade deadline. Some moves were expected, while others were certainly a surprise. In two trades specifically, they received some good prospects that could become key parts of their future.
Blues’ Prospect Jimmy Snuggerud’s Floor & Ceiling
March 10, 2024 by Evan Mead
The St. Louis Blues’ 2022 first-round pick, Jimmy Snuggerud, has emerged as one of the most talked-about prospects in college hockey this season due to his sublime shot and offensive prowess, making him a game-changing talent in Minnesota. With Logan Cooley and Matthew Knies departing Minnesota for the NHL to begin their professional careers, many anticipated a decline in Snuggerud’s production. However, with Knies’ and Cooley’s versatile skillset and playmaking abilities absent, Snuggerud has had the opportunity to become their primary goal scorer, a role in which he has thrived. Despite a slowdown in his overall production without them, his knack for scoring goals has become even more evident.
Coyotes’ Josh Doan & Aku Räty Could Earn Call-up Post-Deadline
March 12, 2024 by Cooper Krigbaum
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone, and the Arizona Coyotes made three separate deals. The first of which came with general manager Bill Armstrong trading defenseman Troy Stecher to the Edmonton Oilers for a 2027 fourth-round pick. He then wrapped up the highly anticipated trade deadline by dealing Matt Dumba and Jason Zucker. It was quite uneventful, to say the least, and so were the returns from the respective deals.
Canadiens’ Hutson & Reinbacher Could Be in the NHL This Season
March 12, 2024 by Trege Wilson
With the trade deadline over and the Montreal Canadiens closer to the bottom five of the league than a wild card spot, there isn’t much for fans to be excited about. The best that can be done now is to hope for competitive hockey and a good drafting position while watching young players like Jurj Slafkovsky develop and improve their game.
David Reinbacher’s Season Has Encouraging Signs for Canadiens
March 12, 2024 by Luc LeBlanc
With the 2024 Trade Deadline having passed with little action from the Montreal Canadiens, and the team highly unlikely to make a late-season playoff push sitting at 24-30-10, fans may begin to look towards the off-season, next season, and beyond. Chances are high that the team will have yet again another high draft pick that will surely entice the fanbase. Given the tempered expectations surrounding their final 18 regular season games, the Canadiens will seek to continue the development of their prospects, such as the much-anticipated arrival of Lane Hutson, and the possibility of David Reinbacher coming to North America following the end of his season with Kloten HC in the Swiss-A league.
